Renal Services

FactFile Small Image

The HSE has recently gone to tender to establish a panel of suitably qualified dialysis providers who can be contracted to provide Haemodialysis services when and where an identified need exists. Quality of care, value for money, location and time frame for service delivery will be key components of the decision making process. The main benefit is that this will speed up the process of providing additional dialysis capacity.

It is envisaged that future expansion in dialysis capacity will be achieved through a mixture of public and private units throughout the county. Patients will however remain under the care of their nephrologist in their referring hospital.
