The HSE has committed to undertake an independent review of the current provision of hospital, primary and community maternity care services in the Greater Dublin Area. The review will make recommendations and provide an action plan that will facilitate the optimal configuration of primary, community and hospital services and workforce requirements for the geographic area and population of the Greater Dublin Area to make available safe, sustainable, cost effective and high quality maternity care and gynaecology services. It will encompass building on the work that has already been done whilst focusing on the changing landscape of the HSE, the clinical and non- clinical service requirements, service users perspective and the consideration of the case for tri-location for adult, paediatric and maternity services.
