What is the Review?
A Review of Public Health Nursing Services is currently being conducted by the Office of the Nursing and Midwifery Services Director in conjunction with the Directors of Public Health Nursing Services.
The aim of the project is to conduct a comprehensive review that will include:
- Current management structures, along with the role and function Public Health Nursing Services in the context of Primary Care.
- Public Health Nursing Services provided to client groups across the lifespan in the context of Primary Care.
An Expert Advisory Group, which is representative of all nursing grades employed in the Public Health Nursing Services, has been established to oversee the project. Dr Joe Clarke, Primary Care Clinical Lead, is Chairperson of the group.
The Work Done So Far:
- A survey has been developed to identify the range of services that are provided within the Public Health Nursing services in your area. The Survey will be completed by the Director of Public Health Nursing in your area.
- A questionnaire has been developed to examine the role of the Director of Public Health Nursing and the role of the Assistant Director of Public Health Nursing. These questionnaires will be completed by the DPHN and Assistant DPHNs in your area.
These will be circulated the first week in November.
