Services provided to the public

The Quality Assurance and Verification (QAV) Division was established to support the assurance role and to strengthen the focus of the health services on patient safety and quality.

The work of the Division is founded on the conviction that every person who comes to us for their care should be treated with respect and that when things go wrong we will respond with compassion and will learn from those experiences to continuously improve quality and safety of our services.

Decision Making

The division will undertake a programme of healthcare audits and ‘own initiative’ reviews of services where required and will work closely with the Quality Improvement Division, the State Claims Agency and the HSE Risk Committee to support the development of a culture that ensures improvement of the quality of care is at the heart of all services that the HSE delivers.
