The OMCYA launched the National Standards for Pre-School Services/Early Years Services in December 2010.
The HSE have agreed that there will be a phased introduction of the Standards across the sector.
In preparation for their implementation the HSE are first implementing the new National Assessment Guide which will support the Inspection of Regulation 5 (Health, Welfare & Development of the Child).
In the near future a working group will be established and will include representatives from the childcare sector.
