The Dean Maxwell Community Unit nestles in 'The Valley' in the shadow of Knockbrack Hill and Saint Cronan's Church in Roscrea. The Unit is called after The Reverend Dean Thomas Maxwell who was Parish Priest in Roscrea at the time the site was handed over by the Parish.
The Dean Maxwell first opened in 1974 and has been home to many people over the years. New services have been developed. In 1991 the Day service started, this Day Unit is now open 7 days a week. The Respite service was developed and this gives a break to carers and the people they are caring for. The Laurels was opened in 1998 for people who require special support. The Dean Maxwell continues to grow and develop and we aim to provide a highly professional and flexible service to the people of Roscrea.
