Mental Health Services in Cavan and Monaghan


Cavan/Monaghan Adult Mental Health services are provided through 4 multidisciplinary teams - community mental health teams in Cavan and Monaghan, Community Rehabilitation and Mental Health Services for the Elderly teams. The range of services available are medical, nursing, behavioural therapy, psychology, occupational therapy, social work and family therapy.

Who is eligible for our services?
The population of Cavan and Monaghan over the age of 18 years. There is no charge for services provided on an out patient/domiciliary basis. The charges for acute inpatient admissions are €60 per day to a max of €600 in a year (this applies to non medical card holders only). Charges for stays in extended care and community based residences are raised in line with the requirements of the Health (Charges for In-patient Services) Regulations 2005.

Cavan/Monaghan Adult Mental Health services are accessed by referral through GP.

OCCUPATIONAL GUIDANCE SERVICE
The Occupational Guidance Service provides people with disability with information, advice and support to identify training and occupational options that suit their needs. The service is free and confidential and available to anyone aged between 18 and 65 years with:
- intellectual disability,
- physical disability
- sensory impairment,
- mental illness
- autistic spectrum disorder,
- life changing illnesses such as heart attack and stroke.
