The mission of the unit is:

"To ensure that we deliver high quality care to patients who have a diagnosis of Breast Cancer. We want to ensure that all service user needs are met in a timely, sensitive and approproaite way and that all channels of communication are open between patients and staff."

The services provided by Waterford Regional Hospital include:

• High-quality clinical care
• Counselling, education and support for patients and family
• Specialist Surgeons, Radiologists, Radiation Oncologists, Medical Oncologists, Breast Pathologists, Specialist Nurses,  Clinical Nurse Specialists, Physiotherapist and Secretarial staff
• Breast Clinic
• Triple Assessment Breast Clinic
• Radiology and Imaging Services
• Laboratory Services including on-site Histopathology Department
• Medical Oncology
• Radiation Oncology (located in Cork University Hospital, Whitfield Hospital and St Lukes Hospital.)
• Reconstructive Surgery

The Breast Clinic is held in Outpatients 6, new patient breast clinics run on Wednesday mornings from 9am-1pm and on Thursday morning from 9am to 1 am.

Follow up clinics are held in the following centres

Waterford        Clinic Monday morning 9am to 1am

Clonmel            Friday morning 9am to 1pm

Wexford           Every 2^nd Thursday afternoon from 2 to 5pm

Kilkenny           Every 2^nd Thursday afternoon from 2 to 5 pm

When you arrive, you will be asked to wait in the waiting area. You may bring a friend or relative with you to your appointment
