We are one of the eight cancer centres of the HSE National Cancer Control Programme (NCCP) and one of two centres in the Dublin Mid-Leinster Network. We provide cancer services chiefly to people who live in South-East Dublin, Tallaght, Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown, and East Wicklow excluding the Baltinglass electoral area and from Portlaoise and surrounding area.
Our cancer services include tests to diagnose cancer, surgical cancer treatments, oncology consultations, chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments (St Lukes Hospital and St Vincents Private Hospital).
About St. Vincent’s University Hospital Cancer Centre
The St. Vincent’s University Hospital Cancer Centre was founded in the early 1980’s. It was the first and is the largest dedicated Symptomatic Breast Clinic in the country. More than 250 women with newly diagnosed breast cancer are treated every year and over 7,000 women are seen during the year with various breast complaints. It is now recognised that patients with breast cancer have improved outcomes if they are treated by centres of excellence where staff are breast care professionals with expertise in this area.
