Oncology Social Work Service

 

 

Social Workers work as part of a Multidisciplinary Team in Oncology offering a range of professional services to Oncology / Breast Care / Haematology patients and their families.

Where are we:
We are located in the Old School of Nursing, grounds of Waterford RegionalHospital and Medical 4.

What we do:

  • Counselling and support to help patients and families adjust to diagnosis and planning for the future
  • Practical support, information and referral regarding social welfare entitlements and benefits
  • Information on a range of organisations and community services, locally and nationally
  • Referral to specialised sources of care in the community
  • Bereavement support and counselling

How to contact us:
Patients can self-refer or can be referred by anyone involved in their care. Family members and carers can request to speak to a social worker.
