Mission Statement
The Philosophy of the Outpatient Department is to provide quality care for all outpatients attending clinics within the department, and ensuring that all patients are treated with dignity and respect. We aim to provide the client and their families with an efficient and effective service.

Where are we?
First and second floors, Waterford Regional Hospital. The nearest car park is located at the front of the hospital close to the main entrance.

What do we do?
We provide services to patients across a wide range of Medical and Nursing specialties. Our seven clinics treat patients with medical complaints that include, Orthopaedics,ENT, Surgery,  Medicine, Oncology, Neurology ,Respiratory, Cardiology ,Neurology, Ophthalmology ,Paediatrics and maternity.

Our clinics are Consultant led and give opportunity for clients to be treated by a team of expert, specialized Health professionals using a multidisciplinary approach.

A range of tests may also be done in the outpatient setting which may include blood tests, ECG,s and x-rays. 

How to access our services
All patients who attend the Out patient Department are referred by their General Practitioner for their first visit. Subsequent visits are arranged by the individual consultant teams.

Our Aim
Our aim is to ensure the outpatient client receives quality care in an efficient and effective manner. We endeavor to see you as close to your appointment as possible, communicating and delays promptly and regularly.

 

Recent Developments
The Out patient Department has recently undergone a comprehensive review of the services provided and a dedicated project is overseeing the development of this service to ensure it meets the needs of the local population, both now and in the future.

The new Breast care service opened in November 2008 to provide care to the regional population.

The general clinics, Four and six, have recently been supplied with new computers in the consult rooms which facilitates a more effective and efficient service to a diverse range of patients

Opening Times
Clinic hours are generally 9am to 5pm, although a small number of clinics start at 8am.
