Mental Health
It is estimated that one in four of us will experience some mental health problems in our lifetime, from a low period, to more serious depression, to a small number who will experience severe mental health problems. If you feel persistently sad, have trouble sleeping or experience unexplained aches and pains, you should visit your GP for some advice. Most people are treated by the GP alone, unless more support, for example, therapy services, is required, in which case you may be referred to some of the following day and hospital services.

Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
The purpose of the service is to provide a mental health service to children and adolescents who are experiencing moderate to severe emotional, psychological or behavioural problems. Age range 0-15 years is seen for assessment, once referral is made prior to 16th birthday. Expected waiting list time and priority status decision may influence referral acceptance determination. Some adolescents who have been assessed prior to their 16th birthday may continue to be offered a service up to their 18th birthday.
