The Louth Meath Hospital Group consists of the following hospitals, Our Lady of Lourdes Drogheda, Louth County Hospital Dundalk and Our Lady's Hospital Navan. Radiology services are available on all three sites.

Radiology Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda:

Location:

Radiology Department is located on the ground floor, follow signs from the main front hall.

Opening Hours:

8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

MRI unit open 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday.

Out of hours on-call system in place 5pm to 8.30am Monday to Friday and 24hrs Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

Services provided:

General x-ray, Ultrasound, Vascular Ultrasound, CT, MRI and Interventional Radiology.

General Radiology:

Service is provided to all in-patients, out-patients, out-patient clinics, Emergency Department, AMAU and GP patients.

Urgent cases are accommodated on the same day.

There is a walk in chest x-ray service.

Routine GP patients and non urgent out-patients receive this service on an appointment basis.

CT & Ultrasound:

These services are provided to all in-patients, out-patients, Emergency Department, AMAU and GP patients.

Requests for the above examinations are vetted by a radiologist prior to scheduling.

CT referral must be from a Consultant.  

GPs may request ultrasound examinations.

Please note that most out-patient CTs from Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital are performed in the radiology department in Louth County Hospital Dundalk. Please ensure you check your appointment letter to see where your CT is scheduled for.

MRI:

These services are provided to all in-patients, out-patients, Emergency Department and AMAU.

Requests for the above examinations are vetted by a radiologist prior to scheduling.

GP Appointment:

To obtain an appointment for an x-ray examination the patient must provide an x-ray request form or letter from a GP. Appointments can be made either by posting the request form into the radiology department by phone or by calling into the department.

Please ensure that if you are unable to attend for your x-ray appointment that you contact the radiology department as soon as possible so that we can give this appointment to another patient.

Results:

The x-ray images will be interpreted by a consultant radiologist and a report is sent to the referring doctor.
