Treatments

At present there is no cure for most forms of dementia. However, a range of support options are available which can help stabilise the condition and improve people's quality of life.

Support can make a big difference to the day to day lives of those living with dementia, often enabling them to stay independent for longer and to enjoy regular activities with family and friends.

Ongoing large scale investment in dementia research around the world offers hope that progress in finding treatments for dementia can be made in the future. Research that focuses on care and services is also important to ensure that people can live well with dementia. The more we can learn about dementia and the diseases that cause it, the more likely we are to be able to discover new and better ways of managing and treating dementia.
