Training and Skills for Dementia

Dementia Elevator

Dementia Elevator is one of our Campaign Partners, and is an education and empowerment programme to help individuals, communities and health systems engage with and support people with dementia.  The programme developed a range of free training programmes and other resources which you can use to learn more about supporting people with dementia.  

There are training programmes for carers, and for people working in various industries or jobs that could help to support people with dementia - all are provided free of charge.

GP Training is one of our Campaign Partners, and is a web-based clinical education resource designed for Irish GPs and community based healthcare professionals. has been launched as part of a broader clinical education initiative called PREPARED (PRimary care Education, Pathways And Research in Dementia), which is a project that is part of the overall implementation of the Irish National Dementia Strategy.

PREPARED is coordinated by the Department of General Practice at University College Cork, and is funded by the Health Service Executive and Atlantic Philanthropies.

The Dementia Services Information and Development Centre

DSIDC is one of our Campaign Partners and has an Education Centre located on the sixth floor of the MISA Building at St James Hospital in Dublin.   All health service professionals and anyone with an interest in dementia keen to upskill and improve their knowledge base are welcome to visit and use the facilities free of charge. If you would like to visit the Centre please contact or call 01 4162035 to arrange an appointment.  The facility is open from 9.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday.
