The objective of the programme is to provide relevant learning tools required by managers to strengthen the employee relations aspect of their people management role.
The method chosen is to utilise employment legislation as the framework within which to develop the training programme. However, the programme is not intended as an education in the law itself, rather the focus is on HR policies and procedures that derive from the legislation. It is widely acknowledged that the proper operation of these policies not only ensures compliance with the law but also contributes significantly
This programme aims to:
- Give a brief overview of the legal framework governing employer/employee relations
- Illustrate how the various employment statutes impact on the people role of the line manager
- Demonstrate how the effective use of HR policies not only serves to comply with the legislative requirements but is also central to the motivation and commitment of staff to the organisation and to high quality performance
