Events and Recognition

Shortlisting will commence in September 2017.  Successful projects will be announced and contacted to present their projects to the Selection Panel in October 2017.  This will give the selection panel and projects an opportunity to meet to discuss their work. The National Recognition Event will take place in December 2017, the winner of the Health Service Excellence Award, the Popular Choice Award and the Best Team Project Award will be announced. We will seek to identify opportunities for the finalist projects for local engagement and staff recognition to highlight their work. 

At their discretion, the Co-ordinators & Selection Panel may make additional awards in the form of commendation for projects that excelled in particular criteria, for the purposes of creating further replication of learning. 

Recognition for winners

We will work with the winning projects, other finalist projects and selected short-listed projects to maximise the full learning from these projects by assisting them to find opportunities to showcase the outcomes achieved.

We will also work to assist worthy projects to sustain the work achieved following the Awards process and identify opportunities for the transfer of knowledge and learning to other sites / centres.

For the credibility of the Awards, the winners need to be adequately resourced, supported, and enabled to maximise the replication of learning from their achievements in the year(s) following the Awards. The Steering Group recommends that the Leadership Team, CHOs and Chief Officers make every effort to ensure that successful projects are sustained, resourced and supported.
