Surgical day unit in Tipperary benefits staff and patients

Sugical day unit newIn June 2014, the surgical day unit in Nenagh, County Tipperary was handed back to its staff after extensive renovation. The unit boasts a minor procedure room, 10-bed day ward, pre-operative assessment facilities, discharge area and surgical staff support spaces at first floor level.

An estimated €6.2 million was spent on the unit, reflecting the continual investment made in acute care facilities around Ireland, creating more space for surgical staff and better facilities for patients.
