22nd December 2021
Niall Horan, Derval O’Rourke and Daniel O’Donnell were among the special guests who contributed to the HSE Annual Staff Concert last Tuesday, December 21st, thanking staff right across the health service for their incredible contribution and hard work over the past 12 months.
Performances Over 1500 staff tuned into on the day to hear concert performances from choirs including Heartbeats, Tallaght University Hospital, David Brophy’s Frontline Choir, HSE North Dublin Choir, Tulla Secondary School, Co Clare, St John’s Hospital Choir Limerick, HSE Remote Christmas Choir and Keynotes Choir from Roscommon Mental Health Service Staff and Service Users.
The Dublin Gospel Choir also participated, while there was a special recorded once off performance of the Beach Boys classic, ‘God Only Knows’.
HSE CEO Paul Reid also paid tribute to staff for their ongoing dedication, thanking everyone for what they had contributed and what they had achieved.
Acknowledging the challenging year for staff, Sarah McCormack, lead for Staff Health, HSE Health and Wellbeing, stressed that “the promotion of singing and workplace choirs is one of many health and wellbeing initiatives for staff in the HSE. Many of the choirs are made up of health service staff from across all areas of our acute hospitals and community services, from different disciplines and backgrounds, with all coming together to perform for their colleagues and others. It was a wonderful concert, really uplifting and really positive. I want to thank all those who participated, those who organised it. It was inspirational.”
