Following the immense work of healthcare staff across the country, the National Vaccination Programme COVID-19 has won two prestigious Project Management Ireland awards for the ‘Greatest National Impact Project 2022 and the Public Sector Project of the Year Award 2022.
These prestigious awards celebrate outstanding success and recognise excellence in project management across Ireland. The awards recognise individuals, projects, project teams and organisations that have demonstrated excellence in the delivery of change.
Greatest National Impact Project 2022
The Vaccination Programme was one of five finalists in the Greatest National Impact Project 2022 and was open to public vote. The HSE’s eHealth Digital Response to the COVID Pandemic was also one of the shortlisted finalists. Digital Health technology was also core to the success of the Vaccination Programme in winning the Greatest National Impact project award.
Accepting the award for Greatest National Impact Project 2022 on behalf of the HSE, Eileen Whelan National Director Test, Trace and COVID- 9 Vaccination Programme and Dr Colm Henry HSE Chief Clinical Office acknowledged the dedication and achievement of HSE staff and many teams across the country to delivering the vaccination programme.
Delivery of a project of this scale and significance to the health of Ireland’s population would not have been possible without the 100% dedication and commitment of the many project teams involved in the Programme.
Public Sector Project of the Year 2022 award
The COVID-19 Vaccination Programme also won the Public Sector Project of the Year 2022 award. Accepting this award on behalf of the Department of Health, Derek Tierney acknowledged the Department's work and partnership with the HSE, the High-Level Taskforce on Covid19 Vaccination, and the National Immunisation Advisory Committee in delivering the programme.
HSE Dublin South, Kildare & West Wicklow Community Healthcare Programme Management Office were also the winners in the Programme Management Office of the Year 2022.
TUH launch series of health talks
Tallaght University Hospital (TUH) will be hosting a number of health-related talks during October as part of Health Awareness Month. The first talk in the series will look at ‘how to eat well and exercise during the menopause’.
‘Living Well with Dementia’ project marks 10 years
The Living Well with Dementia in South Tipperary project, supported by the HSE and run in cooperation with Family Carers Ireland, recently marked 10 years of service.
