Overwhelming response from parents using UHG technology to see their new babies

The introduction of a video facility that allows parents of babies in the Neonatal Unit at University Hospital Galway to see regular images and videos of their new arrival has been a huge success.

According to Aine Binchy, Registered Advance Nurse Practitioner, the response has been overwhelming,  “It has meant that parents can get regular updated images and videos which then builds to an overall diary which they can have and keep.“

The vCreate technology underpinning the service has been accessible for both Neonatal Unit staff and parents alike.
