HSCP Innovation and Best Practice Awards

The Inaugural HSCP Best Practice and Innovation Awards Ceremony, hosted by the National Health and Social Care Professions Office was held on 6th November, 2018 in the Royal College of Surgeons.

In total, 187 applications were received and following the shortlisting process, 13 finalists were selected. All 13 were invited to present their projects to the finalist judging panel of 10 members.

It is the aim of the National HSCP Office to hold this event every two years.  In the interim projects from the previous event are presented here for sharing.  A short video and a summary of each of these 13 exceptional projects can be accessed here. Information is also available to view on the HSCP Hub on HSELAnD.

There were three overall winners, one in each of the following categories:

  • Professional Leadership Award
    Daniel Flynn, Mary Kells, Mary Joyce & Louise Dunne
    The coordinated implementation and evaluation of dialectical behaviour therapy in adult and child/ adolescent mental health services at a national level across Ireland
  • Driving Quality Improvement, Delivering Sustainable Quality and Safety in the Workplace Award
    Ann-Marie Brennan & Brendan Murphy
    BabyGrow: Translating Research into Improved Nutritional Care for Pre-term Infants
  • Reshaping Care Award
    Alison Wellwood & Anita Murray
    Improving Ulcer Preventative Offloading Care for the At-Risk Foot – An Integrated Approach

Four further projects were ‘Highly Commended’ by our judging panel.
