Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Aim

The effective and efficient management of people with COPD, using an integrated approach to prevent disease, slow disease progression, optimise quality and quantity of life and provide care in the most appropriate setting.

 

Objectives

  1.   To engage with key stakeholders and foster relationships in order to deliver on the aim of the National Clinical Programme for COPD.
  2.   To provide ongoing guidance on the correct treatment and care for people with COPD based on best international practice and evidence.
  3.   To facilitate an improvement in morbidity and mortality from COPD through early diagnosis and the provision of high-quality integrated care following diagnosis.
  4.   To identify appropriate resources needed to help deliver on our aim.
