National Office for Rare Diseases
The establishment of a National Office for Rare Diseases is a central recommendation of the National Rare Disease Plan for Ireland 2014 – 2018.
The HSE National Clinical Programme for Rare Diseases played a key role in establishing the National Rare Diseases Office.
The office was officially opened in June 2015 by Minister for Health Leo Varadkar TD.
The National Rare Diseases Office provides current and reliable information about rare diseases to the general public, health care professionals, researchers and policy makers.
