National Sepsis Summit

The National Clinical Programme for Sepsis holds a national summit, where healthcare professionals and patients share information on Sepsis, Severe Sepsis and Septic Shock.

Sepsis summit 2024

The HSE National Clinical Programme for Sepsis, as part of the National Quality and Patient Safety Directorate with the collaboration of the Department of Health, is hosting the 8th Sepsis Summit this year in Dublin Castle on Tuesday 3rd September 2024. The Sepsis Summit will bring together an impressive array of international and national experts to discuss topics related to the “Early Treatment Saves Lives” theme.

The Patient Safety Strategy 2019-2024 guides our work, and reducing and managing sepsis is a key priority for patient safety improvement, as identified in the strategy. This summit will raise awareness of sepsis in all settings and provide a learning opportunity for all who attend, leading to better management and, ultimately, better patient outcomes for those who develop sepsis.

Healthcare professionals are invited to submit an abstract on topics related to sepsis for consideration for oral or poster presentation, where the best submission will receive a prize for both the best presentation and poster. Original research, quality improvement projects, and case reports focusing on sepsis will all be considered.

If you are interested in submitting an abstract, please complete the abstract template provided and submit by the 5th of July 2024 by emailing sepsis.team@hse.ie.

Join us for this highly anticipated conference.
