HSE Controls Assurance Review Process (CARP) 2024

The Annual Controls Assurance Review Process will commence in October 2024. This page is designed to provide information and support to all HSE Staff and in particular to those who are eligible to complete the CARP.
If you are required to complete the process for 2024, you will receive communication from your line manager and/or an email invitation directly from the National Finance Division (NFD) Governance and Compliance team. The following are the key steps for staff undertaking the CARP 2024.

Key steps to complete the CARP 2024

Step 1 - Prepare

Download the 2024 ICQ Statements incl. Guidance Notes below and complete the questionnaire offline before accessing the survey site.

The below two documents are reviewed and signed off within the survey site - there is no requirement to print and manually sign any documents. However, we would also recommend reviewing these documents offline in advance of accessing the survey site.

Your direct reports should complete their process before you start. If you have no direct reports, please complete as soon as possible to allow your line management sufficient time to complete theirs within the required timelines.

Please note: The survey will open on 29 October 2024

Step 3 - Sign off

Review and discuss any issues with your Line Manager.

Click the FINISH SURVEY button when you are comfortable that the responses and commentary provided reflect the control environment in your area accurately.

Step 4 - Complete

Retain copy of your survey on file for your own records. This will be emailed to you and your line manager after you submit your survey (based on the email addresses entered by the participant in the introductory section of the survey). Should you be selected for the External Review you will need to reference this material for your meeting.
