In September 2018, the first Joint Digital Collaborathon was hosted by Health Business Services from the Health Service Executive; Business Shared Services from Health and Social Care Northern Ireland, and Ervia, formerly known as Bord Gáis, in the Trinity Innovation Centre. In the weeks running up to the event, the three organisations brought forward three challenges each that they were facing in their digital journeys, and set these out in a series of animations and fact files that were shared with the attendees, throwing down the digital gauntlet to some of Ireland’s brightest minds.
Those at the event were able to select which challenge they took on, and such was the demand that it was booked out well in advance, with almost 140 people braving Storm Allie on the day to attend.
Collaborathon Challenges put to the attendees on the day:
Below are two animated videos showing the challenges that Health Business Services brought to the Collaborathon
There was a fantastic response from all three organisations to their own specific challenges and the solutions that had came back from them - this wasn’t about a slam-dunk solution to the challenges, but a starting point for finding a better way of doing business through technology. Each organisation has agreed to take back the three solutions proposed for each of their challenges and to look at them in more detail, while planning for next year’s event is already underway.
