The National Leadership and Innovation Centre for Nursing and Midwifery (NLIC) was established in 2011, as part of a comprehensive investment in nursing and midwifery leadership by the Office of the Nursing and Midwifery Services Director (ONMSD), Health Service Executive
The purpose of the National Leadership and Innovation Centre (NLIC) is to provide a leadership and innovation service on behalf of the Office of the Nursing and Midwifery Services Director (ONMSD), in collaboration with a range of partners.
To build the leadership and innovation capacity and capabilities of nurses and midwives in the Irish Healthcare setting
Our Objectives for 2018
- Deliver a suite of leadership programmes for frontline staff
- Publish a national guiding framework for developing nurse and midwife leaders at all levels.
- Support the individual and collective development of senior nurse and midwife leaders
- Develop an online leadership resource for nurses and midwives
- Deliver a series of innovation learning events
- Support clinical team development
