Who we are

The National Quality Improvement (QI) Team supports services to lead sustainable improvements for safer better health care.

Our mission

“We work in partnership with staff and people who use our health and social care services to lead innovation and sustainable QI to achieve measurably better and safer care”

Role and function

To achieve our mission the National Quality Improvement Team work across all levels of our health and social care service to educate, champion, partner, demonstrate and enable sustainable quality improvement.

COVID-19 Response: National Quality Improvement Team Role and Contribution 

The COVID-19 pandemic has required the most urgent, critical and large-scale response the Health Service has ever had to provide by delivering a united response to the National imperative regarding COVID-19, creating a cross-Government and HSE solidarity driving our response. We are pleased to present this report which captures the twelve ways in which the National QI Team have supported the National response.

Decision Making

The National Quality Improvement Team has no role in providing services or administrating schemes for patients or service users. It does engage in funding Quality Improvement Programmes and Initiatives. The decision making processes that apply to any such funding are the HSE Procurement Policies and Procedures.

The Freedom of Information Act 2014 gives each individual legal rights to access both personal and non- personal (corporate) records, to have personal records amended or deleted where the information is incorrect or misleading and the right to seek reasons for decisions that affect him/her.
