On Thursday 22nd March 2018 we met Laura Brennan from Co. Clare. She has Cervical Cancer. She is 25 years of age. There is no cure for her cancer just treatment that will prolong her life.
Laura contacted the HSE to offer her support to the HPV school vaccination programme. A video has been developed with Laura and Dr Cliona Murphy. It is available to view here
We thank Laura for coming forward to share her story and giving her time to encourage parents to be informed and get their daughters vaccinated.
The school teams are visiting all second level schools over the next couple of weeks to offer the 2nd dose of HPV vaccine to girls who were vaccinated in September.
If you would like your daughter to join the programme or complete the programme it is not too late to get the vaccine.
If your daughter is still in school please contact the school teams and they will arrange an appointment for your daughter either in school or at a HSE clinic.
Their contact details are here
