Fees & Refund Policy


Each certificate costs €20.  There is an additional fee of €1 for postage within the Republic of Ireland and United Kingdom and €2 for postage elsewhere.

Your Credit/Debit card will be debited on the day of purchase by the Civil Registration Service unless otherwise stated.

Applications are processed as quickly as possible.  We aim to ship from our office within 10 days, however postal services vary from country to country.  To ensure the record is found please ensure all relevant information is submitted.

Refund Policy

Where a record cannot be accessed (for example, due to insufficient information being provided) we may contact you by email or telephone to clarify your application and avoid any undue delay to you. When applying, it is helpful to include email and telephone details for this purpose.

On rare occasions records are not available (for example the event may not have been registered) and in these cases a refund may be made.

The Civil Registration Service will make a decision on any refund application to it by a customer on the merits of each case. We will endeavour to have a fair and equitable system on dealing with refunds. The final outcome on any refund application will rest with the Civil Registration Service – Eastern Registration Area.  However if you are unhappy with any decision you can make an appeal to the Office of the Ombudsman.
