Cavan Monaghan Healthy Families is a joint initiative involving a number of local agencies, including the HSE Dublin North East, National Childhood Network (NCN), Monaghan Integrated Development, Cavan and Monaghan Sports Partnerships and the County Childcare Committees, who will work together to promote healthier lifestyles.
Cavan Monaghan Healthy Families aims to prevent and manage childhood obesity by providing parents and guardians with the skills and knowledge to provide healthier eating options for their families. It also focuses on engaging children in enjoyable physical activities and looking after their emotional wellbeing.
Cavan Monaghan Healthy Families has two programmes aimed at promoting and maintaining healthier lifestyles, the Prevention Programme and the Management Programme.
The Prevention Programme is aimed at any family who has a child aged 0-5 years. Please visit the Prevention Programme page for more information.
The Management Programme is aimed at children aged 8-11years who may be above their ideal weight, this can be ascertained by your local G.P/ PHN or contact the programme Co-Ordinator of Cavan Monaghan Healthy Families to arrange a free appointment.
