To facilitate a consistent approach to the promotion and provision of containment products to children and young people and access to an equitable service.

HSE national guideline to facilitate an appropriate pathway to ensure the continence needs of all with bladder and bowel dysfunction are met; to provide clear guidance for healthcare professionals, managers and staff involved in approving products, children and young people and their parents, families /carers; where toilet training has not been possible will be provided with the appropriate products, based on their assessed needs in partnership with their families and carer.
