The purpose of this HSE national policy is to improve the quality and safety of nutritional care for adults accessing disability services.

This HSE national policy will apply to all staff HSE and HSE funded services providing disability services and involved in the provision and delivery of food, fluids and nutritional care in residential and day services for adults with a disability, including designated residential centres (congregated) and decongregated settings. This policy applies to adults with a physical, sensory or intellectual disability and/or autism, and adults with an acquired brain injury.
