Ward Specialty

The Coronary Care Unit in Cavan General Hospital provides a high standard of care to patients with cardiac conditions or who need cardiac procedures  e.g. Myocardial Infarction, Acute Coronary Syndrome, Arrythmias, Emergency and Elective Cardioversions, Heart Failure, Peri arrest Care and patients who may need a pacemaker.

Ward Capacity

The unit has four (4) monitored beds, and there is suction and oxygen therapy available behind each bed space. We have a central monitoring system which has the facility to run up to 8 telemetries.

Ward Description

CCU provides a high standard of evidenced based individualised care, delivered in a holistic and professional manner therefore leading to the improved health status of our patients or to a dignified and peaceful death.  All qualified staff within the unit are ACLS and BLS trained and are active members of the Cardiac Arrest Team.

CCU is situated on the ground floor at the end of the corridor on Ward Medical 1.

Visiting Times

Our visiting times reflect our rest period (13.00hrs to 15.00hrs), and are from 15.00hrs to 20.30hrs daily. Visitors may be asked to leave during meal times. Outside visiting hours, family/friends are asked to make arrangements with staff on duty.
