Occupational Therapy Department: University Hospital Waterford

Mission Statement
“To facilitate clients to achieve their maximum independence and quality of life through Occupational Therapy intervention within available resources and in line with the mission statement of University Hospital Waterford “

Where are we?

Access to the main OT Department is through the Physiotherapy Dept on the left side of the hospital Main Foyer. You can approach it through the OPD clinic corridor opposite OPD3.

What do we do?
We work with individuals who through illness and/or disability can no longer function independently and carry out their roles in life. We facilitate individuals to reach their goals in the areas of self care, work and leisure activities through training, education or adaptation of techniques. We use adaptive equipment to facilitate independence. We also train families and carers to ensure they have the appropriate information and approach when caring.

How to access this service
