Goal Setting Group

What is the group about?

This group will focus on sharing information and setting goals around education, training, work and leisure. Over the six weeks, it will cover

  • Education and training
  • Supported education and training
  • Employment options
  • Supported Employment options
  • Volunteering
  • Community leisure opportunities

How is the Group structured

The first part of the group will be the Occupational Therapist giving information about that week’s topic. There will be time for discussion and questions.

The second part of the group will be about people exploring what options are available to them and how they can get started.

Practical information

The group is on a Tuesday afternoon from 2- 3. It will have up to 8 people attending.

The group will be held in the Day Hospital Group Room on the 1st Floor of the Ballyfermot Community Mental Health Centre

The group will be run by an Occupational Therapist

You can start the group at any point during the six week cycle. The six weeks of the programme must be attended consecutively or else you will not get to cover all of the material and will be having sessions repeated.

How do I get involved?

Speak to a member of staff about getting involved in the group.

If the group is suitable for you, the Occupational Therapist or someone working with you will contact you. Sometimes you may have to wait for a place in the group to become available. You will be told how long this wait will be.
