National Mental Health Quality & Service User Safety Team (QSUS)

The QSUS team work strategically at national level - supporting service users, managers and clinicians across the country - to ensure Ireland's Mental Health Services are safe and of the highest possible quality.

We have four broad areas of work:

• service user safety;
• risk and incident management;
• compliance
• service quality.

Within these four areas of work, our core functions include:

• monitoring and oversight;
• national level planning for quality and safety;
• training and support – both intensive support in response to issues, and ongoing mentorship.

We work closely with specialist Quality and Safety colleagues at Community Healthcare Organisation (CHO) and Mental Health Service level, as a community of mental health quality and safety practitioners.

Our aim is to collaboratively embed Quality and Service User Safety into the day-to-day work of all managers and clinical staff in our Mental Health Services. We are committed to working in partnership with service users to achieve this.
