How to Get Your Children to Live Together So You Can Too
Author Adele Faber & Elaine Mazlish, 2004
'Anecdote-based and very readable. Covers all aspects of sibling rivalry'.
Review: The book is written by two very likeable authors who at every turn use their own experiences and mistakes to illustrate points. The authors use of their own personal stories really makes the parent feel that they are on a journey with them and that the journey includes mistakes. It also feels like a balanced book because for a lot of the problem-solving actions they recommend, they also rehearse the opposite arguments. The book’s most valuable point, which is repeated several times, is that children can be expected to behave better but that there is no certainty that siblings can be made to be friends.
