Health Needs Assessments

"The purpose of needs assessment in health care is to gather the information required to bring about change beneficial to the health of the population" (Stevens and Gillam, 1998)

Public Health Professionals contribute to many health needs assessments that are used in the development of national policy and strategy in the management of diseases and/ or providing for the health needs of specific population groups. These include the following policy/strategy reports:
