Because of the overwhelming public health workload with Covid-19, there are now 2 services working together to investigate and control Covid-19 - Departments of Public Health (which always did this for other infections prior to Covid-19) and the newly developed "Contact Tracing" service which assists with investigation and control of Covid-19. Some of our MOH colleagues provide clinical and legal governance in this new service and we work together as much as possible to try to ensure we don't have gaps or duplication. This can become quite a challenge for us all in some situations.
