New location for HSE's Waterford COVID-19 Vaccination Services Centre

The HSE’s Waterford COVID-19 Vaccination Services Centre is relocating to new premises.

From Tuesday 6 of December, the public may avail of either dose one, dose two or a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in a facility at the former St. Martin’s School, Kilcohan, Waterford (Eircode X91 EY73).

The operating hours at the Kilcohan Centre for people aged 12 and older (and dose 1 and 2 only in the case of children aged 5 to 11) are detailed at Waterford Vaccination Centre

The HSE’s Waterford Vaccination Centre had previously operated at the SETU Arena in Carriganore from April 2021 until the end of November 2022. Operated under the auspices of University Hospital Waterford/the South/South West Hospital Group, some 170,000 vaccinations were carried out there during that time.

The HSE is urging those who are eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine or a booster and who have not yet received it to get their vaccine.

To get an appointment for your COVID-19 vaccine at a HSE vaccination centre you can book via Covid vaccine booking, call HSE Live on (1800) 700 700 or present at the walk in facilities detailed on the HSE web site at Covid vaccination centres

A number of GP Practices and Pharmacies across Waterford City and County are still involved in the provision of Vaccinations. Pharmacy information is available at Pharmacy information

Vaccinations will continue to those who are homebound and residents of long stay residential care centres.

Chief Officer of HSE/South East Community Healthcare Kate Killeen White said it was important to acknowledge the work and commitment of all staff that had served at the SETU Arena Vaccination Centre supporting the delivery of the vaccination programme, the organisations and agencies who supported it and, most importantly, all those who presented for vaccination:

“We are reaching a milestone in the HSE’s national plan for vaccinations, in overseeing the closure of the Vaccination Centre at the SETU Arena and movement of the service to the old St. Martins premises in Kilcohan, Waterford. Site Manager Claire Tully and her colleagues have done a brilliant job along the way. I am delighted that Claire and colleagues that had been serving at the SETU Arena up to its closure at the end of last week will be joining us to continue the service as it moves to South East Community Healthcare and the new location in Kilcohan, Waterford.

“I would like to thank everyone who availed of the SETU Arena and other facilities in the South East to get vaccinated to protect themselves, their families and their loved ones and their communities. Vaccines are working and are helping to prevent severe illness and the HSE’s new facility in Kilcohan, Waterford (in addition to three others in the South East) remains available as a resource in that regard.”
