The HSE has committed to making all its workplaces and campuses tobacco free.
On Friday 1st July 2016, Kells Primary Care Centre, Kells, Co. Meath became a “Tobacco Free Campus”.
From this date smoking, including the use of electronic cigarettes or e-cigs, is not permitted anywhere on the grounds, for example at the entrances, doorways and walkways, or in car parks that belong to this centre. This new policy applies to all staff, clients, contractors and anyone who attends or visits this centre.
Stopping smoking is the single most important thing a person can do to improve their health. The HSE provide a number of supports to help you do this. A smoking cessation service is available at Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan and is available free to anyone who would like to quit. To make an appointment telephone 046-9021210.
In addition to this support service, help and advice on how to stop smoking is also available from the HSE Quit Team on Freephone 1800 201 203. They will talk to you about wanting to quit, send you some information or arrange for you to talk to a quit smoking counsellor.
