    Cork University Maternity Hospital (CUMH) Celebrates 1st Birthday

    Cork University Maternity Hospital celebrated its 1st birthday on 31st March 2008 having delivered over 8,500 babies in its first year. The birthing process of this 21st century centre of excellence was quite a challenging occasion in 2007. The journey in that year shared by the multi-disciplinary team was happy, sad, emotional, challenging, at times frustrating but also exciting.

    Health Promotion celebrated by 30 North Cork schools

    30 North Cork Primary Schools are to be rewarded for their work in improving the health of their school communities. These schools are to be officially recognised as Health Service Executive (HSE) Health Promoting Schools at a celebration ceremony on today Thursday and tomorrow Friday at Mallow Sports Complex, Mallow, Co. Cork,. These celebrations are very special as this is the largest number to join the ranks of the HSE Health Promoting Schools at any one time. This is a great achievement for these schools as it acknowledges all the hard work and effort that these schools have put in over the past number of years.
