23rd April 2021
This week services users from Disability and Mental Health Services continued to be vaccinated at the Letterkenny Institute of Technology (LYIT) Vaccination Centre.
Vaccinations commenced this week at Letterkenny IT vaccination centre for those aged 69 to 65 who had registered via the online portal.
There was a fantastic atmosphere and excitement at the centre as service users arrived. In the observation area where service users wait after vaccination people were delighted and openly spoke of their sense of relief. When Peter McFadden was asked how he felt after receiving his Vaccination he said "I feel 100%, it's a great day for the parish"
Mr. John McCardle, Area Director of Nursing Donegal Mental Health Services stated "we in the mental health services are delighted that we have been able to facilitate the vaccine to vulnerable service users in our community"
Vaccinations commenced this week at Letterkenny IT vaccination centre for those aged 69 to 65 who had registered on the electronic registration
People are able to register using their PPS number, Eircode, a mobile phone number and an email address. Alternatively, people can call HSELive on 1800 700 700 or 01 240 8787 to register over the phone from 8am to 8pm, 7 days.
The programme is agile and responsive to any EU or global changes and this supports rapid reaction to developments in relation to the vaccine, such as the changes last week with new advice on AstraZeneca, the pausing of the roll out of the Janssen vaccine in Europe.
We wish to encourage any remaining 65 to 69 year olds to register- this includes ALL in this age group including those in Group 4 with health conditions and at very high risk of Covid disease.
Thank you to Mental Health and Disability Services who facilitated on the day.
