Cavan Monaghan Primary Care Services are able to confirm that work will commence on the new Ballybay Primary Care Centre by March 1st, following commitments in the past week from the Facility Provider – Ilex Healthcare.
It has been confirmed that the Pre-Commencement Notice has been lodged with Monaghan County Council. The expected construction time for this new facility is 18 months.
Once it is opened this Primary Care Centre will provide a full range of primary care services to the local population, including the local GP Practice; Dietetics; Occupational Therapy; Physiotherapy; Public Health Nursing; Social Work and Speech and Language Therapy. There will also be rooms available for other HSE services to utilise.
In addition, it has also been confirmed during the past week, that a Planning Application Notice has been lodged with Monaghan County Council for the Castleblayney Primary Care Centre. It is expected that these construction works will commence later in 2023. This facility will have a similar construction period to the Ballybay facility and will provide for a similar range of services.
The completion of these two Primary Care Centres will complete a comprehensive schedule of works by the HSE in delivering modern Primary Care Centres within each of the five towns in County Monaghan. Carrickmacross Primary Care Centre opened in April 2022 and the North Monaghan and Clones Centres will open during 2023. In all of these Centres, local GP services are located alongside HSE services with the aim of providing a broad range of health and social care services to people in their own communities.
