The Board of the HSE is legally required to develop a Corporate Plan. The Corporate Plan is an important document because it will
- set out a shared vision for our health service over the next 5 years
- give priorities and goals that we must meet to achieve this vision and
- allow our stakeholders to measure and track our progress.
Have your say – online survey
What do you want to see prioritised in the health service over the next 5 years?
The easiest way to get in touch and tell us is to complete our online survey.
This survey is now closed
The survey is anonymous. We will not ask you for any personal information that could identify you. We will only use your data for the development of this Corporate Plan. We will handle it in accordance with Data Protection legislation.
What happens next
We received over 10,000 completed responses to the survey. Once the information is collected it will be processed and analysed. The results will be relayed back to the board members. The information gained will be used to help us to develop the corporate plan. Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey.
The future direction of your health service
The health service is important to everyone. The health service is important to you.
We want to provide the highest quality care and timely access to services and treatments for you and everybody living in Ireland. We want to support and encourage people across all walks of life to stay healthy and well, to live independently and to live longer lives, in good health. We want to have a health service that provides you, your family and loved ones with a good experience no matter where you live or where you receive your service. We want a health service that our staff can be proud of.
The health service delivers a wide range of health and social services to the public every year in Ireland. Demand for our services continues to grow every year. This is because our population is increasing, as people live longer. We have more and more people aged over 65 living in Ireland and we know that as people get older they have more health care needs. The past 20 years has also seen huge increases in the number of people in Ireland who have a long term or chronic illness.
While there have been many positive developments and much success in the health service over the past decade we know that more needs to be done.
We want to know what matters to you in improving the health service in Ireland.
The Corporate Plan will build on the direction already set in the Sláintecare report. For the first time, all parties in the Oireachtas came together to develop a 10 year plan to transform our health and social care services. Sláintecare requires significant change and investment.
We will be making sure our priorities are fully aligned to the Sláintecare report. We will also make sure that we build on everything we already know from research and finally, we will make sure that we build our plan based on feedback from all stakeholders.

You can also contact us through our social media channels if you have a query.

How we will use your feedback
When all the feedback has been examined, we will have a better understanding of what you think our priorities and goals should be. The Board of the HSE will review responses as part of its work to develop the Corporate Plan. We will create a summary of all the responses to the survey. We will publish this summary on the HSE website along with the final Corporate Plan.
The new plan will be a clear roadmap for our stakeholders, including staff and patients. It will align with Sláintecare. By setting out clear priorities with measurable goals, we can work together to create our shared vision for the future of the health service.
