HSE Celebrates International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day is a global day of celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.  This day also marks a ‘call to action’ for accelerating gender parity globally.

One of the actions linked to our  People Strategy 2015 – 2018 Leaders in People Services is the promotion of Diversity, Equality and Inclusion.   It is our ambition to promote the principles of Diversity, Equality and Inclusion across the system valuing different perspectives, depth of experience and the strength and potential of individual teams.

The HSE is committed to creating a positive working environment whereby all employees are respected, valued and can reach their full potential.

This year the HSE will celebrate IWD at a special event on Thursday next 8th March in Dublin at the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland building, on Kildare Street, Dublin 2. Attendance is by invitation only.  Invitations have been allocated proportionately by grade, delivery unit and geographic location.

The International theme for the day is ‘Press for Progress’ and speakers from the health, sporting, and business and voluntary sectors will share the breadth of their experiences in line with this year’s theme.

Irish Sign Language interpreters, benefitting the deaf and hard of hearing, will be provided throughout the HSE IWD event.
