Linking Service Safety - Strategy for Managing Work Related Violence and Aggression - Dec 2008

Work related aggression and violence is a significant issue within the health services which diminishes the quality of working life for staff, compromises organisational effectiveness and impacts negatively on the provision of services.  This new strategy addresses aggression towards staff by service users. 

The strategy has involved considerable efforts most notably those of the Working Group on Work-related Aggression and Violence (chaired by Pat Harvey), the Health Services Partnership Forum and Kevin McKenna, project facilitator and report author.
