National Absence Rate Report

Absence Rate is the term generally used to refer to unscheduled employee absences from the workplace.  Absence rate is defined as an absence from work other than annual leave, public holidays, maternity leave and jury duty.   The HSE’s National Service Plan 2014 sets absence rates as a key result area (KRA) with the objective of reducing the impact and cost of absence and commits to a national target level of 3.5% for all hospitals and agencies.
